Bath time has always been a favorite at my house! If your child loves the water then you probably look forward to this time every day as well.
It signifies that bedtime is just around the corner and everyone starts to relax.
Having bath time toys will give your toddler or baby fun ways to explore the water.
A few fun bath toys is really all you need to have a good time.
There are plenty of things that you could give your little one around the house that you probably already have such as measuring cups or bowls to dump water from or even a washcloth to play with.

Always make sure to closely supervise your little one any time they are in the tub.
You can use a small infant tub like this one to support your baby.
If you are looking for an option that your little one that won’t grow out of then I would recommend the Baby Dam (wish they would have had this when my son was younger!) It saves on water and grows with your baby.
This would be a great gift for a new mom!

Water Pipes
What child doesn’t LOVE to dump and pour? This toddler bath set is one of my favorites.
These are great because it gives your child somewhere to pour the water so that it actually STAYS INSIDE THE TUBE!
Your child learns about cause and effect as they dump water into the pipes and the different fans and levers push it out.
You can also take these pipes and move them into different positions in order to create a bath tub puzzle for your little one.
Washcloth Puppets
You won’t need many baby bath toys 0-3 months. However these baby washcloths would work well for young babies and continue to be lots of fun in the toddler stage as well.
You can practice animal sounds as well as imaginary play with these fun puppets.
Bath Stew
Hungry anyone? A great way to encourage fine motor skills is by making some bath stew!
Your toddler will refine motor skills by stirring and pouring while in the tub.
Grow their vocabulary by labeling the items that they use to cook with.
If you do bath time frequently this vocabulary will come quickly as it will be repeated often.
This set encourages imaginary play skills as well with lots of open ended play options.
Fishing Net
Fish bath toys are great for refining fine motor skills and encouraging imaginary play as well.
I love this because you can buy it for your young baby and it will grow with your child.
As a new baby, they will be interested in just looking at the squirt toys and holding them.
Then they will gain the hand strength to start squeezing and squirting.
Lastly, they will enjoy chasing the fish and capturing them with the net.
You can also purchase a similar set that comes with a fishing pole as well (take a look at that here). Both are wonderful options!
Bath Time Books
I love the idea of incorporating book time into bath time especially for those really crazy nights when you really only have time for one.
These books make wonderful infant bath toys. They are easy for young babies to handle, but will teach simple concepts to your older toddler as well.
Who doesn’t love to read in the bath and work on early literacy skills at the same time?
Wish they made adult books like this!
If your child likes Sesame Street they happen to have a line of bath books as well which you can check out HERE.
Tea Set
Tea time anyone? Any toy that encourages imaginary play I am a big fan of (read about the benefits of imaginary play here).
A tea set also provides little ones with lots of opportunities for language development as you name the parts of the set as well teach them all the new vocabulary that goes with that theme.
A wonderful fine motor activity as your child will dump and pour the “tea” into the other cups and practice stirring with a spoon.
The saucers in this set actually float! Another thing I love about this idea is it is a great toy for outside of the tub too.
What I love about this toy is it is great for playing indoors during bath time and outdoors during the summer and spring months.
If you were planning on gardening with your toddler then you may already have one lying around.
Your child can use the watering can bath toy to fill up cups for pretend play.
Watching the water sprinkle out can be quite fun your your little one!
You can check them out HERE.
I hope you enjoyed this list of popular bath toys for toddlers and babies.
