Did you know that reading promotes skills in ALL areas of development?
It encourages language, motor, cognitive, social, and adaptive skills.
Early literacy skills start from birth and continue to unfold as your child is in school.
Reading books are not the only way that your child gains these skills.
You can promote early literacy through daily play activities such as drawing with chalk or even pointing out signs when you drive by.
You can also sharpen these skills by showing them different types of literature such as magazines.
Why I Love Reading Magazines with My Toddler

The whole experience you get with magazines is exciting from start to finish.
You take a trip out to the mailbox only to discover there is something NEW.
Your child gets excited and you plop down in your favorite reading spot and dive into the fresh pages.
Magazines are great because they provide your child with new information.
They also have a different feel and look to them then books which can be intriguing to little ones.
Another thing I love…it doesn’t matter if a page gets ripped or torn.
Keep a pile of your magazines that have been read for crafts and cutting practice on a rainy day.
If you are looking for some fresh reading material for when you are reading with your toddler, then check out these magazines I have listed below.
The ones I have listed are designed for REALLY young readers and will keep them engaged.
